brooches
These brooches can be worn to adorn a hat, coat or scarf. My first crocheted brooch was a badge for a ribbon at the 2014 Common Ground Fair’s Fleece Tent awarded for the favorite fleece by my spinning group. I have been making them for both the breed award and now as brooches. These small sculptures are made from handspun and dyed wool, silk, mohair or angora. They are then assembled, stitched, often topped with a bead from my collection, and secured with a pin back. I enjoy the fringe tumbling showcasing the qualities of each fiber’s line quality.
